OOOk for the koook! NO2 has more purposes than you might think – get the NO2 into the kitchen with cream chargers!

What might surprise many is that the inert properties of nitrous make it an ideal aerator for use in the kitchen. The idea of using gas in food is not novel – bread is after all just flour, water and carbon dioxide. The gas in this case is made in situ by the yeast. Unfortunately, there are no friendly microbes that can make nitrous for us – so we need to add it from a cansier.

This might all seem a bit sinister and scientific – the use of canisters of nitrous gas in food – but if you’re ever drunk coca-cola then you’ll be familiar with the use of pressurised gas in drinks.

How much gas is there in a fizzy drink? Well, look at the mint challenge and see for yourself!

I’m happy

The time of year has come and gone had I hope you all had a pleasant one! I am of course talking about Valentines Day or as I like to call it Clintons Cards day. Although as cynical as I try to be about February 14th I have to admit it does bring me a little bit of excitement and joy. To me it makes me think of people getting together because of this romantic day and just enjoying life. Every day for me is as romantic as Valentines Day as I am lucky enough to be with a wonderful man. My darling James… “There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.” – George Sand. This must be true I as I am truly happy.

To all my fans I am sorry I haven’t written in my blog for some time. The reason is just damn laziness. To put in a sentence what has been happening in the last two and a half months; Xmas was really lovely. The wonderful Farhana came to stay with us. James who is already the best present of all brought me a new phone and a kwel digital camera, which as soon as I work it out will start to post some of my pictures. New years eve was even better, although something weired happened to my lips but that’s another story. Today I have been recovering from Fanu’s birthday bash. We went to Bing Tang a lovely restaurant in Kentish town. I drank far too much (as usual) and am suffering with a really bad hang-over—poor me. Oh and Reuben my older brother is getting married next month so I am try to get a flight to Romania to be there for the wedding. Well that’s enough for now.

Winter

I am not happy about the winter; not only does it get very cold that my nose is goes pink and runs with snot every time I’m outside, but it gets very dark way too early. I mean when its 5.30pm and pitch black it’s just not right. It seems to me that people’s drinking habits seem to change as the weather changes. For example in the summer people spend their spare time in beer gardens, parks and their or their friends back gardens drinking beer and jugs of pimms. In the winter people sit at the warm side of the pub near the radiator or wrapped up in bed with a warm duvet drinking whisky or mulled wine.

When he plays his favourite music and he holds me. He closes his eyes and sings softly along to the music into my ear, it’s like he has travelled to another world and he is taking me with him.

This week has been quite a mad one as it was my birthday on 28th, also I started lessons at university in a part of London I have never been before; Elephant and Castle. I quite like the journey on the bus there as it takes you through Bank and all those wonderful buildings then over the bridge to south London. A part of London I’m quite alien to.

I love beer

I really love beer! I always used to drink red wine (white wine makes me want to puke). Tonight the man friend brought red wine to go with dinner and I felt awful; sleepy, heavy bored. After complaining to him about how shit I felt, he insisted I brought some beers. After just 2/3 of one beer I felt much better. Let this be a lesson to me; beer right, wine wrong.

Banking and shopping

Just got into work, after a busy morning. Went to get my loan check from Uni then went to the Netwest in Oxford Street to pay it in (as it has the nicest building and very short queues and loads of staff). Funny that, go to a branch in Holloway for example and you wait an hour to be seen, staff are rude and ignore you, the building is old and the decor is dated and dirty. Then go to a branch in somewhere like Oxford Street and it’s the complete opposite. Went and had a quick look in H & M they had some very cool stuff like the flared and boot cut cord brown Trousers. I think they are a very fetching student look, so I might go back and get a pair. I really hate shopping by myself I go there with good intentions, I know what I’m looking for in my head; colour, styles etc. But when I get there I get confused with all the choice and also end up feeling guilty about spending money on myself so walk out with nothing. So I prefer to go with people so they make me buy what I want with out feeling guilty.
